About
Palm Road Apparel is inspired by the day ordinary people did something courageous—they laid palm branches in the road as Jesus entered Jerusalem. It wasn’t just celebration. It was public worship. A bold, visible declaration of loyalty to the true King in the face of powerful authority.
Why palm branches mattered then
In the ancient world, palm branches weren’t “neutral.” They carried meaning in both Roman and Jewish culture—so when the crowd grabbed palms, they were speaking a visual language everyone watching would understand.
In Roman culture: palms symbolized victory and triumph
Across the Greco-Roman world, the palm branch was widely recognized as a symbol of victory and triumph—so much so that in Roman culture the palm became closely tied to the idea of “victory” itself. They were awarded to champion athletes, used by victorious generals during triumphal processions, and displayed by lawyers winning cases. The Latin word palma became synonymous with victory itself. Roman generals returning from battle had streets lined with palm fronds, creating a "red carpet" a high honor for heroes. Gladiators and chariot racers received palm branches as tokens of victory. Palms were even depicted on, Roman coins and, monuments to signify success and power.
Even Roman coinage used the palm tree as a powerful political image—especially in the famous “Judaea Capta” coins that depicted Judea conquered beneath a palm. In other words: Rome understood the palm as a symbol with public, national significance.
They were basically staging a counter-triumph in Rome’s own visual language. By greeting Jesus with palm branches—a public symbol of victory/triumph in the Roman world, the crowd was sending Rome a loaded signal: “This man is the victor. This is the true king.” Add the words they shouted—“Hosanna!” and “Blessed is the King of Israel”—and it becomes even clearer: they were applying royal worship language to Jesus in a city under occupation. They were welcoming Jesus as a warrior, a king, and a man who could deliver them from Roman occupation.
But here is the kicker... Jesus enters on a donkey, a symbol of humility and peace. So the crowd’s “victory” symbolism is aimed at a different kind of kingdom—but it’s still a kingdom claim, and Rome would have heard the edge in it.
So when Jesus rides in and the people wave palms, they’re not just being festive. John explicitly says they took palm branches and went out to meet Him crying “Hosanna!”
And the words they shout are loaded too: “Hosanna… Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”—language drawn from Israel’s worship and hope (Psalm 118).
Put together, it’s a public moment that says:
“We recognize our King.”
Not Rome. Not power. Not fear.
Jesus.
That’s the heart behind Palm Road: faith that isn’t hidden, worship that steps into public life with courage and humility—ready to point people to Christ in ordinary moments.
Tithe - 10% Giving
We don’t just talk about worship—we want to practice it. Palm Road Apparel sets aside 10% of all profits as a tithe, given first to support the work of God through our local church, and also directed toward efforts to provide clothing for people in need—at home and in developing countries.
We do this because giving is part of discipleship and worship. The Bible teaches that the first portion belongs to the Lord:
Bring the whole titheinto the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says theLordAlmighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgatesof heaven and pour outso much blessingthat there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10
Honor theLordwith your wealth,
with the firstfruitsof all your crops; Proverbs 3:9
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
Why We Give
We believe worship should move outward—into generosity, service, and compassion. Scripture calls us to love in practical ways, not just words, and to remember those in need (James 2:15–17). When you purchase from Palm Road, you’re not just wearing a design—you’re participating in a mission that’s meant to bless people and point hearts toward Jesus.
